Well this is very different. Assets gained prior to a new relationship of course should be dealt seperately. You have only alluded to that scenario when mentioning possible remarriage in your posts.

Even your final statement above should apply whether both are in gainfull employment or not. Your thinking would see a female partner lose out for taking time out to bare or raise children, that cannot be acceptable for example. Nor would they be then considered as some idle good for nothing for doing so.

Even in this day and age if it is agreed that one partner will be the home maker and all that it implies,(not by any means any easy role) it must then be deemed that the spouse has accepted the role of providing income and profitable gain for the couple as a whole.

So basically marrying for "the money", and giving up work because of it?? Not the involvement of children (esp under 4), if i am making myself clear.

Agreed those that don't work, like the Orange County Wives / Footballers Wives types don't deserve anything as some (not all) are in it "for the money".

But those women who give up work for the best interest of the child, do deserve something as they are contributing to the family by raising the child. However i don't think i personally could give up work completely as i like my freedom and as i have already said once my child is old enough for school i would go back to work. I hate asking for money, and like the freedom of my own cash to spend. As i said its a joint decision between the mum and dad to have kids and in an ideal world you would only have kids once you are in a stable relationship and financially stable to... but that just doesn't happen.

I still think that slating all women as "Gold Diggers" is completely unfounded and out of order. Have you met and got to know every woman in the world.... No! And do you know the full cercumstances of the report in the paper.... No! you were not in the marriage therefore you can only give your assumptions and opinion on what she does/not deserve.
