Re: Vintage film cameras
PS there's also 272256400320 I can't see the damage he's referring to though. It does come with a lens hood which you could sell and recoup the cost of the camera as the lens will be coated (and hopefully not eaten by fungus) so a hood isn't necessary. I spotted the PC connector for the flash on the front, like your other Contina, it did seem odd not to have one.

291776924798 Lol. I put the bid on that one although I don't remember. It must have been after bank holiday wine. I expect the value to rise before the time's up though

Re: Vintage film cameras
I've got a Contessa LK (viewfinder type) in a drawer, the rear element is pretty hazy but otherwise it's fine. I bought it to swap out the same in a Contessa LKE (rangefinder, E=entfernungmesser), and tried to get it clear again, but I think the surface is etched. The meter works, it's missing one tab off a ring, but otherwise is in good shape. I expect any 50mm f2.8 Tessar rear element would do, so if you see a busted camera around then you could have this one and swap out the rear glass, takes literally minutes. As it is now though the flare is too bad to be used, the rear element is the most important as it's nearest the film, I learned that the hard way.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Will keep an eye out. Always on the prowl for cameras. Yokohama, the lenses arrived ok. Came back after a couple of days away and the Halina 35x, Hanimex 135 f2.8 and the two from you were waiting. It makes the MV1 look tiny

Re: Vintage film cameras
Nice to come back and open a bunch of new presents .
That's the thing with the smaller cameras like Olympuses OMs and later Pentaxes. They were fairly compact in size but the lenses at the time didn't follow suit. Balancing the OM10 with the chunky Vivitar on Monday took a bit of getting used to. MV1 looks like a sexy little machine though. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Its a very basic aperture priority camera so no option to change shutter speed apart from Auto, Flash X100 and bulb. Nice and light though.
You weren't joking were you Yoko, that Yashica Hanimex is a hell of a lump for something so small!

So you're set up with the Minolta now. I've taken a few pics with the standard lens and it's nice and bright .... although I haven't seen the results yet. Last edited by yokohama; 03-06-16 at 08:10 PM. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
No film loaded though. The lens seems like it has more glass than my OM lens. Got a bonus from work so may have to add to the collection. Also got another Halina 35, bit sticky on the focus/aperture rings but eases off with a bit of exercise.
