Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
I delivered newspapers does that count.
Its only these 2 drivers, the rest use the doorbell & don't try to hammer my door down like the Police

In that case it's probably force of habit, they just do it to every door without paying much attention.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Delivery drivers who ring the bell, bang on the door, and then leg it back to their van before you have a chance to get there. What is it with them, do they get paid extra to have to come back or something? I caught one of them red handed once, saw him pull up, walk up to the door, push the bell and then as he did so start back to his van. Fortunately I was at the bottom of the garden and went out the side gate and stopped him in the lane! Cheeky bugger then tried to argue with me about it!

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Not as bad as the TNT who never called 2 days running, but used his automatic device to say he'd tried delivering my item, even though on both days I'd waited in for him.
He didn't even bother with the card through the door

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Orange mobile had me booked in for a 9am to 1pm slot. I got to work at 8.57 to be told the delivery guy had been and gone but wouldn't let our gate man sign for the phone. Rang Orange who told me they tried to deliver at 9.10am and it would be £30 to redeliver the following day. I asked if which format they'd like a copy of the CCTV footage of their driver leaving Lord's at 8.45am? The time is bang on accurate as we have to be able to use our footage if there is a major incident on a match day that requires the police to get involved. Suddenly Orange were more than happy to get the delivery rescheduled at no cost. It's just a scam as not everyone has multiple cameras to back them up.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Hmm, this seems to be a theme!
My experience was the regular postie shoving a pile of letters through the letterbox with a red "We tried to deliver but you were out" card already filled in and in the middle of the pile. Unfortunately for him, I saw him on the drive and we had a "discussion" shall we say... He didn't even have the parcel in his van! And as a comparison, I ordered my new camera on Tuesday, it arrived this morning at 11.00 am, all the way from Hong Kong! Pete

Its one thing to tell a white lie about no one being there if no money is involved, but to do the same in order to extort an extra £30 is possibly fraudulent. Worth pointing that out to orange
