He is not accountable for failure of the investigation by the Police.

TIL (Today I Learned) a topic headline stolen from reddit.

Anyway TIL that whilst we are watching the central heating boiler swallowing our savings that MPs outside London can claim upto £5480 /year for their utility bills. No wonder my 71 year old MP won't follow my suggestion and retire.

I'll accept your word on this Seeker, as I'd rather drink a cup of cold vomit than click through to a Daily Heil article!

I saw reference to MP's heating allowance on a "leftie" site so I googled it to verify and was surprised to see it confirmed on the Mail site - so I copied their link (Gaviscon available at the entrance )

Well, that last vaccine jab on Wednesday has slaughtered me. Three days of serious flu-like effects, now I feel like I still have a fairly unpleasant cold.

Not nice.

i think self employed people can also claim if they have a place/room set aside in their house as an office. at least there is a limit to what they can claim for utility bills. they also have to provide proof if asked.

Tubes of caulk!

When did they change the size or offer a bigger size? I picked up a tube but it's too long to fit my gun. So either waste some caulking so the piston moves up, cut the end off and bodge it or buy another gun. Bother.
(Mutter, mutter they've always fitted before - new fangled progress )

Didn't know they had, thought it was a standard size to fit the standard size applicator/gun.

An accountant would claim a fixed amount to cover heating, lighting ,telephone
etc expenses for working from a home office but I don't think it would amount to anything like the MP'S expenses for utilities .

That's what I thought too so I picked up the nearest tube which happened to say "trade".

The standard size is 310ml but there's now a trade size available which is 380ml and is about 45mm longer. If you buy the bigger gun (apparently) it will take the smaller tubes too.
