It depends on the sort of riding you want to do - if it is mostly roads and flat xc then go for the hardtail, if you want to do trails and a bit of 'downhill' then go for the full susser

You`ll soon change your tune when you`ve broken a few vertebrae and had some screws and wires in your body from Bike accidents .... then there is the onset of Arthritis from riding many Winters before gear got any good

Re: The MTB thread
If I could afford a good FS bike I'd get one, but I can't and the cheap ones are crap especially considering everywhere is uphill both ways here

Re: The MTB thread
With some clever eBaying you can get a FS bike for not a lot , I sold my Orange Patriot frame with a 5th element TFTuned rear shock on it for £175

Re: The MTB thread
Well, i went with the hard tail
What a bloody nightmare ive had, cos there is 2011 models coming out fairly soon, they are no new stock of 2010 models. I have phoned loads of halfords today as website saying qty1, store saying 'no thats our display model thats not for sale'. Halfords website is really crap, phone number for redditch store is actually wrong, its a nationwide autocentre, instead of 77 at the end its 88. Anyway, redditch had one but wasnt boxed but not ex display. Bartered a bit and he agreed to give me a £50 voucher to use on anything instore so may buy a helmet or something. Fitting mudguards, is this the norm? If so, why the bloody hell dont they fit them as standard? Are halfords mudguards any good? Cheers, Last edited by Specialone; 03-01-11 at 03:53 PM. |
