Re: The random rideout pictures thread
i have always been under the assumption of "private roads" means just that and your not allowed access. well i as wrong.
“Private Roads” are those roads which are not on the List of Public Roads. The public, however, have a right of passage over these roads and the owner(s) of a private road may not restrict or prevent the public’s right of passage over the road. In terms of the Roads (Scotland) Act “Private Road” therefore simply means “Privately Maintained Road”. i think this does not apply to "gated and locked" roads as these may be peoples drives. so next time i or indeed you see a road marked "private road" in Scotland its a lie. |

Re: The random rideout pictures thread
thanks Mav, its only about 15mile away from my house. tbh there is a lot of stunning scenery here in Fife (technically that pic was in Perth and Kinross but only just).

Google won't let you plan the entire loop because there are a couple of farmers gates (which you are allowed to use) at the south west corner of the loop. |

Re: The random rideout pictures thread
I haven't tried but there is zero tarmac around the loch. The south entrance is closed to vehicles. Dunno about the north side. It wouldn't be much fun on a road bike though
