archive.is has a copy of the article:

If you use chrome, there's an extension (web archives) which makes it easy to find cached pages like this.

My water meter has failed. Anglia Water came to replace it but as feared (by me) not only was the internal stopcock seized but so was the outside one. I can still shut off the water with yet another valve but it's on the "wrong" side of the meter to allow it to be changed.
Anglia Water may have to dig up part of my driveway and return it to "as was condition" since the outside valve is their responsibility but it's Stonebond/epoxy so I suspect it's not going to be a hidden repair. Oh bother!

Replacement double glazing is HOW MUCH!?!? A combination of c30 year old inherited windows that were part of the house we bought 21 years ago and unbelievable rubbish put in by builders we hired for our extension 16 years ago all need to be replaced now. I thought I'd also able to afford to change the bike this year but that's right off the table now. And this is after haggling... I need a drink.

Happy Valley has finished. Brilliant, grim, funny, absorbing TV.

What did you pay, John? A rear 160/60 17" Avon Storm for the SV is about £120 fitted, and a front 120/70 is about £95 fitted for me.

£333 for two tyres fitted to loose wheels. 120/70 F and 180/55 R both 17". Metz Roadtec 01 SE. I could have bought them online a bit cheaper but there might have been delivery costs and of course fitting costs.
