This is the first year for several years that I have been in the UK in the summer. I normally spend up to 3 months in the summer in Turkey. As a result, my lawn is now 50% weeds, mainly dandelions. I need to make a concerted effort to get rid so I have bought some lawn weed killer. Probably will need to reseed in the spring then.

If you use the weedkiller soon you should aim to reseed in September. Weather is still comparatively warm and the moist/dewy evening will both aid germination and growth before everything slows down for winter. The new grass will get a better start in spring that way. At least that's the theory. You can always overseed any patchy bits in spring.
