I tried to create an account on the NHS website yesterday. That was straight forward until I tried to link it to my GP surgery. I had to produce some form of photo ID so I used my passport which was duly rejected without giving a reason. I suspect it is the quality of the photo which is covered in some security film making it very hard to see. So I rescanned the passport and played around with contrast etc to improve the image. It was finally accepted. They then ask to take a photo using the laptop camera to compare. That was done and I was told that I'd get an email in 24 hours once they were happy. Later that night the email arrived saying that it was rejected giving no specific reason. I don't have any other form of photo ID. So I've given up for the time being.

I do, otherwise I'd have used that. The workaround is to go to my GP and get a code to enter into the web site.

I have a new car, the navigation doesn't get traffic info from the radio, it gets (apparently better) traffic info from the Internet instead. The car has a mobile phone built in and can even act as a hotspot. The satnav can't use it, so has no traffic. Argh!

That's very odd. My Skoda has built in satnav but doesn't have speed camera alerts and isn't that clever at rerouting if traffic is heavy. It does have android auto so I use that for navigation instead.

Everyone seems to advise just using an app on the phone, which I guess I will. It's just frustrating as it means remembering to switch the config from bike to car mode all the time (or I guess using a different app). It's also not something my wife will be happy to do.

It just annoys me that there's no joined-up thinking.
