if you pass your test when you're aged between 17 and 21 you can only get a restricted A1 license

you have to ride with this restriction for a period of 2 years upon which you are automatically upgraded to a full A catagory license, if you did your test on your 17th birthday you'd have a catagory A license on your 19th birthday

If you reach the age of 21 during this 2yr period you can opt to do another test to upgrade your A1 to an A license before the 2yr period is up

so in theory a 19 yr old could ride a GSXR 1000 at full power after 2 years of 33bhp...
in which case i stand corrected.. bit stupid though.. but then again anything in this country to do with bikes is stupid.. why not just allow people to do there das at 19? lol

must be all that young untamed testosterone again why do ya think women get cheaper insurance....more mature why do you think at 25 insurance for car or bike 'for men' takes a plunge?
Sorry but there must be a little truth in it somewhere, I find it very odd, as I've said many times the difference in insurance prices between me and Im Indoors, in the beginning of my biking career.....and still going on! Can still get any bike cheaper than him

In theory he wouldn't have to ride anything in those two years
