They cordon people in regardless of whether they want to be there or not, antagonise them by intimidation of anyone trying to leave. I'm surprised it wasn't more violent tbh.

I do not condone the actions the police man in question took, HOWEVER.....what I will say is that he was well within his right to restrain her. She was acting in a seemingly aggressive manner towards him and while slappinh her and certainly using his baton on her were way too excessive when he could have and should have just restrained her, I can see that this situation was more volatile than that with Ian Tomlinson and I'm sure this officer was in a far more stressed state.

Taking two or three of them out of the picture to arrest this woman would have depleted their strength considerably. There's a simple solution... don't go on protests that could turn violent unless you want a slap from a copper, or have a good bladder

Yes I must agree it makes tactical sense. But I can't agree with how they policed the whole thing, you can't hold people in an area for no particular reason and not expect violence as a result.

You dont arrest people for minor crimes/acts of violence. You target the ring leaders for arrest/removal from the crowd

Dear god, both of you love a subservient woman who wouldnt say boo to a goose then do you? The woman was shouting, thats all, just raising her voice about the aggresssive and heavy handed behaviour of the other officers towards someone who was not being aggresive toward them. In other words she was standing up for somone.

You 2 would like to know that if your sister saw a kid being bullied she'd keep her mouth shut and go about her business then would you?
That if she saw a child getting kidnapped and dragged into a car wouldn't scream blue bloody murder to attract attention to a crime in progress?

This was a protest, people who attened protests do so in order to have their voices heard. Its a place where people will shout by its very nature. The police are there to facilitate the demo not to encourage or discourage it and if they are the type who feels threatened by some shouting then ffs they sure as hell shouldnt be ther should they.

i also love the fact that afterwards the cop with the read headband on his cap, probably denoting some superiority, comes and moves the crowd back with those fabulously ridiculos words of "theres nothign to see here is there, now move back!"

Yes nothing to see but the police acting in a way the mainstream media isn't going to show on the news. So nothing he wants to be seen is what he really means i think.
