OK, I have scared myself... - Page 11 - SV650.org

Alright Col, glad to hear you're still alright mate

Since I got back into bikes I thought I'd be pretty sedate but even with the SV I was doing daft stuff and it's fair to say that after getting the T things had got even worse. I've had quite a few scares and thought what the f*ck am I doing. It's quite surreal as I'm normally steady and sensible in all other walks of life

The answer I've found is (forgive if I'm repeating others cos I did'nt read the other threads) trackdays. I get the thrill and I also to properly explore a bike that will always be better than I am and in a much safer environment. It kind of justifies buying a sportsbike to me as well because I don't feel good about doing things like that on the road. As a consequence of the trackdays I've found I'm more clillaxed (my son's new word) and get greater enjoyment from road riding.

If you've not tried one then give it a go. It's not in the slightest bit intimidating and I can assure you you'd be one of the faster riders.

Perhaps we can get an Org team together...? It would be nice to put the French and Fins finally in their place!

I wouldn't mind trying the liege event on a xt or ktm 650

I've had a good old browse through. You're right - it seems to be biking, booze, bragging and some falling off and a few trips through the hedge. I really can't see that putting many people from this forum off
