Even all this time later, I still wonder whether I'll watch MotoGP next year (I'll watch the final race to see how he is remembered). The top 3 riders are really rather dull (I was hoping that Lorenzo was going to liven things up a bit but I gave up thinking that after seeing him complain about Sic (when Sic suggested that he may get arrested ) - he was bringing some light back to the division.

There is footage from Bautista's bike of the Honda leaning over then sliding away. A low side. Simoncelli must have dug his knee down and the bike got on its tyres again.

His helmet coming off is something I have never seen before. The marshalls look useless but I said that when Tomizawa was killed last year. No change there then.

I hope he was unconscious on the first impact tbh...

I feel so bad for Edwards and Rossi too - imagine hitting someone you regard as a brother?

nice tribute here: says it all IMHO

Just out of curiosity, did anyone try and watch the BBC replaying it in the afternoon on Sunday. Did they even show anything to do with MotoGP?

I don't think they did no, not much point considering there was no race to show and with the news carrying the story.

THey just went to pitlane and Matt Roberts announced the news and had a brief chat with Charlie Cox and Steve Parrish.
