I'm an a$$. I'll filter whenever and wherever I see fit. Some people may say that some of the filtering I do is quite risky, but it's my choice (and besides, it's fun and I'm too old to do drugs for my kicks!). I wouldn't berate anyone for not riding the way I do, it's all about personal preferences. My wife doesn't filter at all, because it scares her and she's not confident with it, does that mean she's a bad rider? No, in fact she has better slow control than many other bikers I know, she just does doesn't want to take unnecessary risks, whereas I do!

Stick to what your comfortable doing and ignore the immature comments of your friend.
