I would love a bigger bike although I find litre sportsbikes a bit intimidating and TBH having something that powerfull would be "giving myself enough rope".
You just have to look at the laptimes in the Superstock race at the TT this year to illustrate how awsomely fast these things are. As a track bike perhaps, but then again I'm not sure I could justify the expense as I would want to keep the SV as well as its such a good all rounder. I don't really feel that I've mastered the SV yet, I've had pegs and knees down on the track but I'm still in the novice group. All in all I'm happy with my SV at the mo, I could perhaps do with a few more revs in the lower gears so I don't ping the rev limiter so often, but apart from that it still suits my needs. (or it will when I've replaced the worn out trampoline suspension ![]() |

Just thinking more.
I am a hobby motorcyclist. That is I use car for commute and bike for fun. Expensive hobby. But if I used a bike all year then I most certaiinly would get a litre bike like a big bandit or summat. I would get bored far too quickly if I had to ride a small bike often. Doing miles of motorway day in day out on a GPz would be a yawn. |

why do you need to do 100+ in second? again there is no need but want, like northy said just change gear and chill look at the scenery.

If you've ever lived with a larger faster bike and then had to ride smaller and slower then you'd understand.

I've read the majority of the posts in this thread and I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter what you ride, or why you ride it. You've made a conscious decision to buy a particular sort / size of bike and thats it. Everyone is different. We all have different opinions about things.
Personally speaking, I bought a VTR 1000 'cos I've always liked the sound and the low down power. I'm now looking for a litre plus sports tourer like a ZZR 1100 'cos I'd like to do a bit of touring and the VTR is most definitely NOT a bike you'd want to ride for miles and miles in one go. Its a bit thirsty as well.
