As referred to above I went to spray weedkiller on my lawn. Only for the sprayer to explode as I was pumping it up. Luckily it broke on the far side from me so I just got wet rather then being lacerated by shattered plastic.

Go for a watering can with spreader bar instead, partly because it's safer.


I have a cheapo pump sprayer from Wilko and it just deformed madly when adding pressure. I binned it straight away!
