Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
I went out to give my front calipers a clean and guess what... yes the seals were griping the pistons and they both need a proper clean out, regrease and new seals on the right side. The left side was ok and just needed a clean up before reassemble. The right one is being a pig and wont let go of its pin. I'll work on it for a day or two but I've ordered a new one and new seals which should be here by Wednesday. Fingers crossed that the rebuild goes as well as the first one.

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
Good god I'm bored. I've finally got round to doing some of my work (key skills...) and what a load of rubbish it is. I can see it being of use to people who don't retain knowledge, or aren't as interested etc.. but it's driving me mad. Utter ******** it is. It feels like I'm working on a qualification to be a normal, useful employee. Gah.

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
My bike has kept my quite busy today. As I said yesterday today was a day of TLC for my chain, this is what it looked like before I started.
Looks horrid doesn't in. So with my pot of paraffin, a Tesco value toothbrush and a rag I set about cleaning it up. This is what it looked like after. To me that looks 10 times better then what it was. I also give the sprocket a quick scrub but that needs wire wool or something. While I was in a cleaning mood I also did the sprocket carrier and that come up really well. Then a heavy dose of chain lube and the chain looks almost like how it is meant to look. After that I cleaned off the inch think grease that caked the rims, give the bike a wash, coated it in Scotoiler FS365 and then put the bullet camera back on the front. There's a few more jobs to be done on it but I'll let the bloke who services my bike do them. |

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
No amount of cleaning will change it into a curvy Scott, so I'd give up trying

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
Im taking Jeffs bike for its MOT on Tuesday. Assuming i dont trash it en route, do you know if it will fail with the baffle out? I was gonna put it under the seat so they can put it back in if necessary!
