Looking at sold prices, the Ikonta M is around the £30-40 mark, there are some higher but I don't know why. Hmmm

Yoko, Hobbycraft sell self adhesive foam that makes good lightseals. Used it in the Trip 35.

Some kind of self adhesive foam is next on my 'things to buy' list.

I need to learn to look at pictures more carefully too! The Olympus near me on Gumtree, despite having OM2sp documentation, is actually an OM2n. I only noticed that when I'd downloaded the pic and enlarged it.

Mave either of you guys got any idea about this vivitar wide angle? Maybe it's intended for close focus work as it focuses down to under 1ft. The distances on the focus ring are correct because I checked on 2 different cameras but then it goes from 7ft directly to infinity and infinity doesn't seem to be in focus. I've not seen that before.

Tricky one Yoko, if it just didn't have enough travel it would make sense - are you sure it's indicating infinity on the distance scale? Would be strange for it to focus close and be right but wrong elsewhere. Check the distance at say 1m, measure from the film plane not the mounting flange. Try again at 2m, 3m, see what you get.

Yep, going to go and have a look at the Olympus this evening. I'm not sure what the extra lens is, only that it's a macro wide angle. The seller used it with an extension tube and the ring flash for detailed close ups of dental work.

I ordered some seals from a Japanese seller. I was buying a new skin for a camera so just tagged the seals on. Maybe a little more expensive than Hobbycraft but the string ones are all pre-cut

I can't work this out. It's almost as if the focusing ring needs an extra 50mm of travel to allow it to focus at infinity when looking through the lens. I'll see if I can take a couple of pics to demonstrate.

Hmm if the scale doesn't reach the infinity mark - does it manage that with the lens off the camera? If so the the innards may be bottoming in the camera somewhere - for longer distances, the lens needs to come back towards the camera. If it won't reach the infinity mark then could be something inside jamming it. does it have any sort of adaptor ring on it?
