I can't see what all the fuss is about either really.

When I was 13/14 my Dad did 130 with me on the back.

My Mum wasn't too chuffed when I told her though

+1. 100mph through a built up 30 lined with parked cars and side roads is insanity. 100mph in good conditions, with adequate stopping distance on the motorway is far from "exciting", never mind challenging in terms of concentration/observation required.

Agreed, this can happen at 100mph or 10mph. Talking as someone who has hit a deer at 60, there's not much point worrying about those things IMO. Same stretch of road I did it on, the previous year someone in a 4x4 got killed by a deer coming through the windscreen. Just "one of those things" and you can't go round living in fear of them. I ripped one in half and managed to keep the bike upright (more chance than skill, I might add). I'd even go so far as to suggest that at 30-40 I'd have been tempted to brake (thereby upsetting the bike) and the lack of momentum and centrifugal force keeping the bike upright would have made me more likely to crash if anything.

I'd be worried if it was male though, antlers hitting you at 60mph, fookin heck.

I dunno, it takes some concentration not to fall asleep from boredom.

The A16 between Cambrai and Calais springs to mind.

That's just our caring sharing police trying to make it sound more politically correct. Accidents happen and it doesn't matter who's at fault, if indeed anyone is
