Yeah the old Daily Mail attitude.

"It's a ruddy disgrace." and "Someone should do something." before sitting back and doing absolutely sweet FA themselves.

Complaining, ah yes. I wrote to the local MP - the Rt Hon Owen Paterson MP, MP for North Shropshire, also Secretary of State for Northern Ireland -to complain about the cuts being made to West Mercia Police. He replied straight away to say how much he had enjoyed my letter, that he had passed it to the Home Secretary for comment and he would forward me her reply. Well that was 3 - 4 weeks ago and I'm still waiting.

Bloody useless.

I hope that Cameron sees better than to impose his planned increase of 5p per liter in April

I certainly feel fuel price is starting to bite. I drive a 1.0L Yaris which is no speedster and I'm happy to trundle along at 50 odd on NSL and stick with the trucks on m'ways. Everyone used to overtake me, but I've noticed lately that more cars are following behind with no attempt to overtake.

Interestingly I recall that in my yoof when at 16 I had a moped and a Saturday job, I was paid 30p/hr and fuel was close to 30p/gall, in other words 1hr at minimum wage bought a gallon, which it does now.

The minimum wage for 18-20 year olds, is £4.92. How does that buy a gallon of fuel?

I hope he meant "doesn't"

And another 5p on fuel would be a disaster...

...it doesn't, NMW for older people is £5.92/h, and if fuel is say £1.31/l then that's £1.31X4.5 = £5.90.

At £4.92 that's what 20% short. I bet vehicles on average are miles better than 20% improved in mpg.

I commute 200 miles a week by motorbike and do very few pleasure miles due to cost

Sprint does 200 miles to £25 quid's worth of u/l

Wife puts £35 quid a week into the car

Really starts to add up and both of us don't have a massive commute

even thinking of getting a royal enfield bullet as do 80 mpg and would be fun

Cheers Steveg

At this rate our love of social riding events will be taken from us, as none of us will be able to afford to play out!!

I'll just buy a 250 that does a million mpg and find some smaller roads to ride flat oot on. As much as I love big snorting bikes I'd rather have a little un I can afford to ride
