Really. Well maybe I should have asked all those really slow so called sports bikes that were holding me up to get out of the way every time we got to the corners.

Trouble with the last ride was that some were doing mirror system and some marker system.. Nobody really knew what was going on!

Marker system needs to be explained before the ride as there are variations..

I would say to hell with the marker system. Its only really necessary on well attended rides.

I imagine we'll only end up with circa 5 on Saturday.

I'm a big fan of the "I'm not letting that swine in front of me out of my sight if it's the last thing I do" system.

You can ride behind me.

I always seem to have the slower rider behind me and end up having to wait at every junction.

The point I am trying to make is that we need to work out what we are doing before the ride. If the ride is only 5 people strong then mirrors are fine but we need to clarify that first.

Also, dont rule out markers for smaller groups. If you have newbies on the ride then it can be very handy. That way you can blast off and have a spirited ride and all you have to do is wait for the person behind you at each junction. That is what SDMF and Ape did on my first ride and it worked well.

It also takes the pressure off the newbie who might try to keep up with you and get into trouble round corners.
