Don't have children myself, but I thought child seats were supposed to be inside the car....

Primarily my commuter when the weather is too crap for bike use, but I think I may have to modify it into some kind of survivalist vehicle. The rear seats and the two in the boot are coming out to make way for my airbed, and I have plans to install a butane gas bottle powered cooker ring and other camping comforts in the rear compartment for when I go racing and on trackdays. The boot area is massive, so there'll be plenty of room for everything I need. If I acquire too many scratches and dents I'll give it a coat of satin black paint all over.

The Maverick was never a desireable vehicle, and they aren't much cop off-road, but ithey are reliable and comfortable so it'll do as a makeshift camping wagon, and it's only cost me 200 quid with a year's MOT and 6 months tax.

I don't really do cars, bit I do love bargain motoring

If i had kids.. AND had to drive them somewhere... it'd be outside the car, or in the boot!

Disco TDi300s are becoming very affordable at the mo. Mate of mine bought a really nice M plate one last week for 750 quid - he sold it yesterday for £1850.

Here's my motors:

Daily driver Beemer diesel with 'a just run in' 220,000 on the clock. Great car, cheap, powerful, economic, reliable, rear-drive sideways action!

My current project, a 1972 1302 semi auto bug with the following mods:
  • Manual conversion to high ratio box
  • Adjustable Kerscher coilovers with Koni dampers and uprated anti roll bars
  • Porsche 944 discs and calipers all round
  • Porsche 944 master cylinder
  • Porsche cookie cutter alloys, fully refurbed
  • Mazda RX7 13b injection rotary motor
  • Sierra cosworth alloy radiator with leccy fans
Still needs an exhaust, wiring loom/ECU fitment, and loads of other bits and bobs before she can run. I've been a bit slack lately choosing to play on my bike instead of spending time in the garage but hopefully be on the road for next summer.
