Front-end's back together. Now I just have to get the controls sorted out.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
stripped the shock out the bike as i wanted to know the spring ID. well its a 60mm spring but a 2.25" collar..
the shock was filthy so a good clean with degreaser was in order. was meant to get the shock serviced but a 4 week waiting so its now getting done end of season. |

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Tinkered with? I'd like to thank Mr Suzuki for putting the front choke plunger in such an inaccessible place.
Changed the choke cable over, as it appeared to be sticking. Thank goodness I'd swapped the screws for Allen bolts ages ago, but didn't help that I didn't have a thin metre long ball ended Allen wrench. Taking off the top rad hose made access easier, but still a lot of a job. Still got to fire it up, but it's back together. Took the electrical connectors apart and sprayed them with contact cleaner. Gonna give them the Acf80 treatment. Then I'll get it mot'd and start using the poor neglected thing.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
yup one of the reasons i dont like curvys is the joke plungers along with the fragile cable splitter. i've always found it best to take the carbs off.
