Re: What have you tinkered with today?
If it's truely difficult, try filling it from the bottom with a shringe. Yes I know you're going to waste a bit but that's the way it is.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
A trick I came up with years ago to,"Prime" a Brake Master Cylinder on Motorcycles if empty or the level has been allowed to drop too low.
Spit on the palm of your hand and place on top of the open MC and make a air-tight seal. Then pull the lever several times but keeping an eye on the fluid level and top up as you go.You should feel the skin on your hand being pulled gently into the MC as a partial vacuum is created. Then the fluid will flow out of the open bleed nipple. Like Biblio I've never had trouble bleeding Motorcycle brakes unless the MC is faulty or there is a leak somewhere using just a jar with some brake fluid in it to act as a one-way valve with the tube from the Bleed-nipple. I've never needed to buy or use any fancy stuff. HTH

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
I worked out eventually that the bleed nipples let air by when I undid them. It meant there was no pressure when I pressed the lever.
In the end I just removed the nipples and let it flow through for a minute or so. I never get this problem with a mountain bike! |

Did you use cutting compound to get a good finish. I know some people have used toothpaste.

Funny how people will wax and polish their cars paintwork but ignore headlight plastic until it clouds over... (being lazy in the car cleaning area I had dealer applied paint protection and every time it rains it cleans the car, the only bit I have ever cleaned regularly is the headlights - and it seems to work). I did a family members car with Fenwicks caravan window cream and it removed the cloudiness very well with just a cotton cloth and the cream. The AutoGlym super resin polish is also great for keeping UPVC ( or PCV-U ) window frames in great shape, just once a year is all it needs.
