Re: Vintage film cameras
Tested winder, rewind crank with test film and the self timer. Shutter fires well and shutter speed responds to different light. Just needs a clean.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Great. Thanks for checking it out. How's the Voigtlander?
Looks like the weather up here is going to be fairly grim tomorrow so I might have a look round the charity shops myself. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Very tidy, has a case. Shutter fires on all speeds, aperture is free and the meter works. What more can you want for £7.99.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Had a quick look at the Minimatic, pretty sure that's not meant to be there!
Untitled by John Rodriguez, on Flickr Meter still unresponsive but it fires now, sounds like it's at just one speed. Ah well, one step at a time. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Hmm, wonder where that sits? Something to do with the meter or over the top of the lens/viewfinder?
Could it be the white bit from under the meter scale? https://www.flickr.com/photos/subajo...-39887875@N06/

Re: Vintage film cameras
Pretty sure it looks like that, might have fallen off the inside of the top cover, there are lots of bits in there

Re: Vintage film cameras
What do you reckon, car boot tomorrow? Or is my collection big enough?
Don't know if I am missing something but the aperture on the Vivitar lens I picked up seems to be stuck open. Attached it to the AE 1 but it doesn't close down when shooting. Aperture ring moves ok. Sent from my Xperia T

Re: Vintage film cameras
Boot sale! You know you want to. The collection is almost at 100, you might as well get it up there.
Absolutely nothing in the local charity shops this morning apart from the overpriced electro and an expensive adaptall2. Doesn't the Vivitar have a little tab/lug on the lens mount side that operates the aperture? I finally found the way into my dodgy Vivitar 28mm this morning. I'd been trying to unscrew it but the front lens ring clips out to reveal a few screws. A couple of them are covered by adhesive though. |
