Are you replacing the cat just for that broken lug or has it got other problems?

Both the lugs have rusted off. I've got a second hand one coming. I'm going to fit it and as long as it's working ok I'll keep it. If it turns out to be bad I can remove the flange from it and weld it to my existing cat

My 182 was beginning to go there too when I sold it. They do like to rot exhausts unless you replace them with stainless, that said I'm in the south of France right now and the amount of really old yet tidy French cars is unbelievable

It's a known weak point on them. Unfortunately they need some kind of flexible joint there. It can't just be welded up. Seen any 5 turbos? I've got a soft spot for them

Ah mate I once nearly bought a turbo when they were in my price range but they certainly aren't now. Not seen any yet but some nice Renault 4s, ok a bit shabby but they are getting on a bit now.

Spotted a daytona 675 or rather recognised the sound first.

Got a local place to weld my exhaust up. Refitted it, got the bike all back together, then looked at the weather and it's raining all weekend
