Re: Vintage film cameras
No, there is a button to switch from manual to AE mode but that is about it. I took the mount off. The lens feels as if there is nothing attached to operate the aperture.

Re: Vintage film cameras
It sounds like something's missing. I haven't got any Canons but on all the lenses I have, there's some kind of tab and mechanism in the mount that stops down the lens.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Oily blades. Who knows if I can get it back together though! Had I known better I could have just unscrewed the rear element and swabbed the blades. Live and learn.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I'd have said oily blades too, the spring on them isn't very stiff.

Re: Vintage film cameras
You need to take more pictures when you're tearing them down!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Its not so much that, I cant get the lens body back into the focus ring and lower housing. Only found one worth picking up, a Beirette V with case for £2
Hey Yokohama, just tested my A11 flash on your XA3 and it won't fire. I think that's the only thing wrong with it. Unless I'm just being an idiot. Put a bid on this as they are quite rare 331901981444 Just bought this 112052771654 hoping that its a case of needing to set the shutter before pressing the release button!

Re: Vintage film cameras
The Beirette looks in good condition. Can't complain for a couple of quid with a case.
It's no big deal if the XA3 flash doesn't work. I don't use flash very often; I keep them turned off all the time on the mobile and digital camera. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I thought so too. It had a horrible white sticker above the lens but peeled it off and removed the gunk with lighter fluid.

Re: Vintage film cameras
A slight downer with the Tamron Adaptalls. Because of the adapter mount, that nifty little Minolta window which shows aperture doesn't work.
