Chin up KJ.

Me and dad went for a ride this afternoon, got a bit wet, then swapped bikes. His CB1300 is a big old comfy armchair, and it felt like riding a magic carpet. Loverly, that's my sort of bike.

Thanks Sean.

What does your dad think of riding the SV?

Never fails to cheer anyone up, I've used it for some of my team when they've been having troubles

I was 5 when that was made, and we ALWAYS used to sit with our grandparents to watch M&W. Watching that took me back 33 years. Thanks Dicky xx

He seems to think it's comfy, though he's a good bit smaller than me. Pulling away in 1st it feels like the engine is out of puff pretty quick, and the SV gearbox takes a 'positive' gear change (boot it in..). SV feels hard and skittish (but it does have gsxr forks and ohlins shock set up for Pete and Lissa )

In comparison, the CB1300 has a fecking great comfy seat, the bars are a bit higher so the position is more comfortable for me. The gearbox is smoother than silk, though if you're pressing on a bit, you can't have any pressure on the gear lever before changing up to 3rd. Suspension absorbs all the bumps nicely but doesn't wallow. Engine is like a turbine, you don't need to rev it much to get a move on.

If only I could afford a nice big bike
