Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Kriega bags should come with the frame loops that those silver metal clips hook into (on the left here):

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
you can always do what i done on the SV. use a soldering iron to make holes in the ends of the webbing then bolt the webbing to points under the seat. that way the straps are bolted to the "bike" and not wrapped under the seat so are much much more secure.
i would use the 4 bolts that you can see in the pic above to secure the webbing. when you take the bag off you just tuck the straps under the seat till the next time you need them. |

Fitted a new front tyre. Angel ST front works well with a Diablo Strada rear.

Cleaned and treated my leathers. They come up very nicely after a good going over with the Nikwax cleaner and restorer.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
The mudflap evolution - the quest to keep my AL7 polished headers shiny:
Mod #1 - add fender extender (not big enough) Mod #2 - add mudflap to fender extender (better, but still not enough) Mod #3 - swap short mudflap for longer (too soft, hit header when moving) Mod #4 - replace soft rubber mudflap with plastic (best yet - can it be made better?) Mod #5 - add comb extender (to cut spray - didn't work, looked hideous too) Mod #6 - remove comb, add soft rubber mini flap to plastic (broke off after 1000 miles and plastic wrapped around header, oh bother!) Mod #7 - bond short stiff rubber mudflap to longer soft mudflap (in progress) I can understand manufacturers making these skimpy mudguards for dry climates but it rains here and even when it doesn't the roads are frequently wet, it's annoying that style overrides function. |
