I've had the Rayburn lit for the last couple of days. It's only bloody August for God's sake!

Lady Poppy says (and I agree with her) "we've had three months of hideously hot weather and now it's gotten back to normal you're all complaining?" Come on you lot - if it's mid-teens to low twenties out there it's much easier to cope with and nicer to ride in. Happy days. Mav - you need to turn your thermostat down.

+1

Hot weather made a lot of people grumpy through lack of sleep and the rivers and reservoirs were going down fast, and now we are back to normal proper UK weather. I looks on weather maps as though Scotland continued to get a good soaking while we were having high temps and no rain.

I got rather wet out geocaching yesterday and I rather enjoyed it. Walking through a dripping wet woodland is rather nice if it's as mild as we're having it right now.

i agree with that. its a bombardment of the senses. especially if your collecting firewood for a camp fire that night so you can have proper bbq food and get pizzed under the stars.. gawd i miss it sooooo much. just wish i was still able.

I took the sender off the boiler (that the thermostat connects to) when we were getting our kitchen done earlier in the summer and now I have lost it so I cant turn the heating on if I tried........ Luckily we have a log burner..........Ordered a hive hub and thermostat so we will have heating next week sometime when the postie delivers it

If you labelled the connections you can just bridge the feed to the switch wire going to the boiler.

Roast lamb first time in years, and I made Yorkshire puddings even though it was lamb.

First time I'd cooked them in our new oven, very good yorkies
