Been at work since 0730 today, and was just getting ready to go home, when the phone goes. I'm still at work and not likely to finish until the early hours of tomorrow morning. It's not on overtime, no one else is available to do this so my team has to.

I was supposed to have a day off tomorrow too.

The only thanks I'll get will be a email thank you.

That sucks Rich, no gratitude then no go surely...

I left today just after 5pm and got looked at funny...I was in before 7:30...normally I'm the first in and last out.....Fook em all I say!

My team and me are dedicated to what we do, so when I asked there was no problem.

Yes, we're stupid for doing it, but the right outcome is good for the soul of the team.

your still getting paid normal rate for the hours you will work though?

Sort of, my premium weekend hours, night shifts and flexibility to change shifts or extend shifts at short notice is agreed at the start of the financial year. So it's contracted, know how many weekends, nights etc I must do.

I was in at 7 this morning and worked till gone 6. I don't get paid anything for the extra hours I work. It's just expected. There's no overtime.

Then in Saturday till 5pm...
