Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Well its being changed for the better, but its not finished.
Yesterday there was an accident on the M1 which closed the exit to the roads heading toward Catthorpe & then they closed junctions 1 & 2 on the M6, which is the Catthorpe Interchange, which was the way I was heading. So I left the M6 and headed east on the A500/A50 toward Derby, which is a pretty good route, if there's problems on the M6. Avoided going down the M1 at the A50 junction, as the M1 was still shut southbound. Headed toward Grantham via Nottingham on the A52? But the roadworks going through Nottingham were horrendous! It was only 7 miles more than the direct route, but an extra hour on my journey time. Its my fault, as I'd texted my wife saying "just leaving & shouldn't be too late, so long as the M6 is ok" Why on such a clear & sunny day should there be accidents of this nature?

I see more drivers deliberately taking stupid risks and generally driving like utter ****s on hot summer days than any other. Winter accidents tend to be more genuine mistakes/incompetence.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Moving office. Due to redevelopment I'm moving up a floor. At present I have my own office and this means we can store loads of stuff in it, camera gear, prints, discs, bats, pads, books, umbrellas all sorts of gear. What's most annoying is that they haven't actually built my new office yet because they have planned it so badly so I'm moving today then I'll have to repeat the whole process in a couple of months and in the interim my gear is going to be stored all over the place.
But what is funny is that the IT manager said this morning that the new Information Manager, who is getting my old office, is moving in on Monday and they had assumed he would get my desk, chair and pictures. I pointed out that he isn't getting any of that, I'm taking it all with me, even the TV and the half dead cacti! So now they are in a panic trying to source him some furniture.
