Meant to post when I got back but all thoughts were firmly on shower->Bed!!

It rained constantly from when we left The Green Welly until I got home, had to filter the entire way across Glasgow (took ferkin ages!) - I presume Tiger got stuck in that too?

All in all, a damn good weekend!

Sorry to hear about Cumfy's off, at least he's OK, the bike'll fix.

I did think about you going over the Lecht, and wonder if you'd have been better off on the A95/A96.

Did you have snow at road level up there? Might have been a bit icy? Coming past Loch Laggan the snow wasn't much higher than us at all.

Surprisingly the weather was really nice no rain or snow and the sun was actually shining. Was VERY cold though so may well have been a bit of ice there. I think he just wanted a lift in a nice warm van

Well done to those that made it. Sorry bout your off Cumfy. Hope your OK.
My wife told me she'd rather I didn't risk the trip. I said it'll be fine and set off at the back of 2 with a promise that I'd call as soon as I got to Aviemore. I walked back in the door an hour later to an "I told you it was too windy".

Got taken out for dinner and then spent the evening in the pub, so a bit of consolation there.

Got to make it to the next one.

Hi folks, tis I the one who can find ditches!!

Am fine and the bike is only a little bit scared of the Lecht road now but I reckon a few more runs over it are called for to sort that out!

EXPLANATION TIME -
So I come round a corner and there was this HUGE elephant, -no really had a look at things and it looks like the rear brake locked up on me and didn't release anyway mon't take long to sort. Lower fairing is knackered on the LHS and the indicator is gone. Gear shift snapped and the front cowl will need a touch up, but other than that, no problems.

Already put on new indicators, (was going to change them anyway), gear shift has been restored, and fairing is off. Job almost done!!

Only part I need to order is a front brake lever, after Baz and I were pulling the bike out the heather bush, in the ditch, I kind of pulled it clean off. OOPS!

Main thing is I'm intact and I had a fantastic weekend to that point! Was great to meet you folks, roads were good, minus the weather. Big thanks to all those who put in the time to this run, you did great jobs.

Also am going to get into training for next years run- that Bob burger is going to regret meeting me!

Thanks again to all there and I'll be on the road again by next weeks Aberdeen run.

ps Baz you are a legend mate, getting the bike out was no small task and I know I'd have never managed on me own!

So will let the mick taking begin in the banter line and see you all on the next run!

Cheers

With the state of the weather over the weekend there HAD to be an incident of some sort!

Between Ralph's freestyle efforts over the Lecht, the crazy assed ducks, pheasant missiles and the wind kindly standing my bike back up again as I tipped it in for a hard right-hander before the Green Welly (I've never felt my buttocks clamp so tightly onto a bike seat before in my life!), there were a few lucky escapes!

Just glad it wasn't a serious one at least, little consolation I'm sure!

All good character building stuff though!
