Nice to see everyone today, and we really enjoyed the bimble back from the circuit!
Not much of a track day fan myself, but it made it more interesting having more than one person to look out for

Re: Rockingham Nat. Sun 22nd March 2009
Just got back everyone. Had a great day, thanks to Phil for organising the discount for us all and cheers to Zombie for lending me his GPS for a session.
Now for the de-brief Just after you lot left after lunch, i went and had a little spill. It went a little something like this... Was happily following a slower bike and waiting for a safe overtaking spot. After two laps i took a different line out of a fast double apex corner so i could slip by in the next one. The bloke in front rolled onto the brakes heavy, which is when i pulled to the inside of the corner to pass. He preceded to roll off the brakes (unlike his normal slow self) and carried a lot more corner speed than he had on previous laps. I thought he was going to close the door directly on my nose so also rolled off the brakes so i could apex before he did. Anyway, after a very early apex i naturally drifted out to the edge of the track where is preceded to hit the grass. Got the bike upright and slowed then came the fun 15mph trip into the gravel where i lucklessy tried to keep it right. Ended up dropping the ******* bike. No harm was done to me or anyone else and only damage was an extension of a previous crack in the RHS lower fairing. I was made to visit the medical centre where they checked i was ok, despite clearly being in full health. After that i was given the all clear and allowed back on track for the last session. Incidently, the last session was probably my fastest laps. All in all not to concerned about the off, although a little frustrated i let it happen. Great day had by all i believe. Hopefully i'll have the proffessionals photographs by the start of this coming week...

HA you plum, no damage = RESULT to be fair.
I seem to be the only one to have managed to make it out of the rockingham gravel traps upright, and I hit it at 70+ You were going very well, amusing seeing you coming off the first session with a big grin and two scraped knees not bad for a first try

Regarding the "result", i totally agree to be honest. Reason i went down was i needed to be going faster through the trap. In the end i squirmed and just sank in further, then came off. The most annoying thing was the 30 minutes i had to spend in the medical centre as a precaution. I just wanted to get back out and build up some confidence again, thankfully i did.
