I wont hear a bad word said against them!
Was that on the SV1000?

Sorry mate but I ain't liking 'em. I got my rear wheel spinning on the throttle last night at around 50mph, and I didn't give it a fist full either!...not sure if the tyres would do that when nice and round though cause my rear is getting squared at 2000 miles+! In my eyes I need a longer lasting harder wearing tyre with better wet grip (i.e. better water displacement tread).....it's gonna be either Metzeler M5 Interacts or Michelin Pilot Road 3's next...I'm gonna call Hammonds and H.M.T for pricing next week...

edit: Most SMT owners agree that the road attacks (stock tyre for the bike) wear down and square off too fast and are not as good as other more all-rounder tyres in the wet, I will not be going for a single compound softer tyre that's for sure...

Not looking very warm, might even go with my thermals under my leathers. Having said that im totally prepared for wet and cold so hopefully that'll ensure total sunshine

is there any plans for a fuel stop on the way or is everyone going to be starting with a full tank. There is a small petrol station in fincham that we could stop at if needs be. just means we carry on up the A134 to the a1122 instead of turning of at wereham. Its just west of point H on the route

I'll top up fuel just before getting to red lodge just like KJ is, I'll be going to the Esso down the road before I get there...the price is a little steep but it will only be a top up as I have a full tank as of this afternoon

We really shouldn't need a fuel stop on route, for me and my petrol guzzling engine if I have one fuel stop before the ride I don't expect to need fuel again until I'm in Norwich afterwards, the route to Hunny is less than 80 miles

I'll be topping up just before red lodge just wanted to make sure everyone else had the same plan i don't think we pass many petrol stations on the way but as long as everyone starts with a full tank we'll be fine

That was on an SV650, Z750, Bandit 1200, Triumph 955 Sprint and a GSXF600 (not all were mine but people who fitted them after my recommendation) and all of them were (and are) very happy with them. Ask at Hammonds as he was fitting them more than any other tyre a couple of years back!

Maybe they don't suit the SMT but all of the above ride 100% great on them in all conditions.

Not the best thread for this but what mileage were you averaging out of them? I am doing a commute, a bit of longer distance dually/motorway stuff once a week or so and maybe the other 50% of the time is B road shenanigans and I am looking to replace (due to the rear) at 2500 miles, not good!

My SMT runs Sport Attacks, not Road Attacks - no arguments with the rest of it though, as they're not much fun in the wet. Had the ABS fizzing on the AR recee until it dried out properly, so I'll be looking at a change to a proper sport-tourer tyre when they're dead.
