KJ's current battery certainly isn't kicking out 10Ah at the mo.

a 6ah isn't going to be able to kick over an Sv for too long before going flat, whereas a a triple is going to need less juice to turn the motor over
So it wouldnt be much use then, surely?

God, i wish i'd listened to Mr.Moffat in his physics lessons, i'm sure he once mentioned something about this....

Yes, something like that. It's still kicking out 12v, Rob969 will know

All I can really remember from my maritime electrical training is that 'its not the voltage that kills, it's the amperage'

So you could have 40,000 volts but only 5amps and you'd be ok. But 240v with 50amps is going to hurt big time.

Amps are the power behind the voltage

Depends on what the starter motor needs, but its a new healthy battery, so better than yours.

Conversely I've stuck bigger Ah batteries in a Guzzi before. Battery lasts longer before giving up

I've also stuck a big diesel Citroen battery in my Cav, because it was new and the Citroen was going to be scrapped. Hasn't done the Cav any harm at all.

I won!!!!!
I have been looking to replace the lower since my off last year and i check ebay every day to see what's around. The last ones I had were repaired and resprayed so I was prepared to do the same again but then I found a set of brand new ones in YD8 Silver. And I just won them for £290. I am happy

A big saving on new Rich

When you get them, could you scan the fitting instructions and send them to me. I'm just about to fit mine, but I'd like to be sure of what goes where?

I think after giving Mr Speirs such a hard time it's time to try a Ducati. The Ducati roadshow is at the new dealership at Uppingham this weekend

I'm dead chuffed. New are about £345 delivered from banditmania but I guess you know that after looking like I have. The fitting is very easy. You can see which bracket goes where from the shape of the fairing. It's just a case of removing the engine bolts etc, and putting the bracket in place before putting the bolt back. A couple of tips from fitting my first set; dont tighten everything up (brackets) until after a test fitting so that they line up correctly. And the little black 'scoops' need to be screwed on using the front two screws so that they can swing forward and out of the way for the top bracket screw to go in. And lay a blanket on the ground, or do it over grass, so they don't scratch on the ground.
It will make sense when you try it. I'll get them in the post as soon as I get bact to work to copy them though. It's an easy job and well worth it I think.
