Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Got a DID chain tool so I could fit my new chain and sprockets. Good bit of kit!
To remove the old one I ground off the pin heads then pushed them out using the tool It came out very easily Mounted up the new sprockets Because I was getting new sprocket sizes I wasn't sure how many links to get, so played it safe with a couple extra. Obviously I didn't want to grind the rivits and cover the new chain with crap, so I just went for it with the chain tool. The pin popped out very easily! Crimped on the left All done |

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Removed the pillion strap on the spare pillion seat that the seller gave me with the GSXR and fitted Kriega straps instead. Very securely clamped in there. Nowhere to attach the rear two though, so they'll have to be looped together under the seat without fixing in place.
Also cut a half inch off the coolant hose that was causing the leak and refitted. Luckily it's just long enough, so I don't have to shell out on a new set of hoses.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
New ktech fork springs installed (new oil as well of course). Really pleased with the result - only wish I had a decent rear shock to match.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
The new battery optimiser was waiting for me when I got home so I connected the permanent leads and ran them through to under the seat cowl, and while I was messing around I decided to fit the heated grips that I'd salvaged from the ER before I traded it in.
I'm not 100% happy with how the control panel is mounted so I might have to fabricate something neater Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk |

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
One of the mounts they provide has holes that match up with the clutch lever clamp bolts. You can fix it to that and the mount bends as you tighten the bolts so it sits flush against the clutch lever clamp.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Yep. Mine came with that in the box. The bracket bends as you tighten down the bolts to form a curve flush to the clutch clamp. I'll try to take a pic of it on my VFR tomorrow after work.
