Re: Vintage film cameras
It did have tape over it, thats what I can't understand. Unless it was caused when the tape was off to wind on but the streak is continuous. Will post them up tonight. Got some Ektar 120 on order so may take the Nettar, its almost pocket sized!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Hmm could it be from the hinge or door catch?
Going to test the shutter speeds on the Konica tomorrow then put a film in it! Meter is good, accurate from low light (1/15 and f2) up to quite bright - was reading 1/500 f11 when it should have been f16 or more, but at 1/250 and f11 or so it was still good. Seems not too fussed about stray light as well - the Olympus one and Vitomatic are both quite noticeably tricked by sky light, Zeiss not so much but the Konica wins that one. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
No, its in the right place for the window. I thought it was a scanner issue to start with.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Hmm which film were you using? The redness of the windows is a bit of a throwback to safelights and orthochromatic films, but the backing paper is meant to be more or less light-proof.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Fomapan 100 ISO B&W, but the film has an anti-halation layer so I would have thought it would have protected the film better.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Hmm tricky, it's odd the stripes are all the same intensity though, maybe you just wind at a consistent speed! Have you tried shining a torch through the backing paper? If it's not totally light-proof I'd think about getting on to Fomapan about it. I've shot with Kodak Portra 400ISO on bright days and not seen anything at all. Are you positive you have no other light leaks? Pinhole in the bellows or something? Ansco/Agfa were known for duff bellows.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Odd one. I thought it was a scanner issue so I ran it through again but no joy. Beside all this camera talk, I'm getting serious bike cravings. SV is in the dealer having a fuel leak fixed and I want a ride!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Presumably you can see it on the negs by eye anyway?

Re: Vintage film cameras
At the moment, no. The negs have vanished on my desk covered in dismantled cameras!
Found 'em. Really rough way of doing it but looks like a scanner issue:

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yep that looks good. I had wondered if the stripe wasn't central enough to be the window. This your Epson scanner?
