Well I changed my route and decided to do a hilly run. I ended up doing 12.3 miles and took in some serious hills. One hill which is a mile and half of continues rise starts at mile 7. Brilliant challenge. I did the whole run in 1hr 42 min.

Very chuffed. That is all.

Down side is I think my knees are going to be screaming at me for the next couple of weeks. Oh well.

I managed to cut my foot before going on on my last run. That wasn't too much of a problem. but 3/4 the way round what was only a 3.5 mile run and I started to get a real pain in my lower back. Not good. Last night I went and injured my neck at the gym so can't do anything much now. The half' preparation is looking like a dogs dinner. Still not been over 3.5 miles in months and even before I can find out if the last running niggle is a serious one I have to wait to get over the crick in the neck. Aaargh.

That's what club running does for you.

I've been there before mate. One injury after another. Wondering when the hell the start of any proper training is going to happen. But if you have to cancel the half, just make sure you book for the next one straight away to keep yourself with a target to aim for.

im not sure?

as i run with them on a thursday, there is 2 groups (fast and slow) they both do 7.5 miles but the slow group sets off earlier.

in the "slow" group theres about 6 of us, (the fast group about 40) the first few weeks i ran with them, as i did not know where i was going, but the last 2 weeks i have left them behind, i did plan to stop and wait for them, but i just kept going, there is 1 guy about the same pace as me, but he has not been there for 2 weeks.

If your legs are tight and sore from running there is only one thing to do - go running!

I have just done exactly that, my legs were tight and killing me from the 30k off road North Downs Run on Sunday, but marathon training starts in vein today, so I shuffled (and I mean SHUFFLED) out of the door and starting trying to jog, 2 miles later and my warm-up complete I managed the additional HR the schedule requires (just).

All in all a solid 8 miler with NDR still in my legs, am quite happy with that........just another 17+ weeks to go now then.
