Re: Michelin Pilot Road 3's
3000 miles and the rear PR3 is starting to square and i would say i have about 2000 miles life left in it. think i'll have to get a new one (might put a PR4 on) for my trip at the end of the month as i dont fancy getting caught in the north of Scotland in the pizzing rain with a square tyre.
same mileage on the front as the rear but the front is still like brand new. while doing my service i noticed a slight play in the swingarm bearings so that might account for rapid wear rate. |

I was going to say!! 5k from a pr3 is appalling. I get at least 7k mostly upright and I weigh at least 500 tonnes.

Re: Michelin Pilot Road 3's
Difference is Bibmeister has one chicken strip - down the middle of the tyre!

I have no chicken strips on the rear.
Literally none. On the front it's ~5-10mm Sent via the medium of interpretive dance. |

Re: Michelin Pilot Road 3's
well thats my rear PR3 finally needing changed at 5k.
overall i would say a blooody fantastic tyre with mind boggling grip in the wet and dry. the rear has held its shape more or less throughout the 5k with bad flattening of the crown half way threw but its rounded out after that and got more round towards the end which i find very strange. i dont know if anybody else has noticed but they start to tell you they are needing changed with such hints as snaking in open tar joints and a vague feeling when turning in but still planted when leant right over. the front is still good and held it's shape very very well and seems to be wearing evenly over the entire tread and at 5k i would say its 2/3's done. strangly i have not encountered the bad feathering of the blocks on the front like most people have. will i be getting another one? no as i want to try the PR4 next. |
