Theres no such thing as positive or negative discrimination.

All discrimination is both positive AND negative depending on your point of view.

Ok, those two examples are slightly different. One is the PC lets give a hand to those who have been discriminated against.

But the other point was, what about generalisations about good things about a particular race (or other thing). Why is it acceptable to say "black men are better sprinters" but its not acceptable to say "White men are better mathematicians"?

well either of those could also be phrased to be negative.

White men are worse sprinters, black men are worse mathematicians so my point still stands.

Generally people seek to counter discrimination with more discrimination, like the time I tried to sober up by drinking 8 pints and a bottle of vodka.

Have a watch of the above. Its an experiment with a class of children in a school in 1970s America. It doesn't matter how you discriminate, it affects that person no matter what prejustice you use, however you choose to justify those actions.

God! That really got to me! It really did make me want to weep at the rapid descent into nastiness. It's so plain to see from that just how easy it is for people who have a motive for so doing, to exploit other peoples willingness to take up prejudiced positions.

You should see the prison guard experiment, or the milgram experiment with electric shocks.

I haven't seen those experiments as such, but heard of something like it.

Though having been responsiable for looking after people that have been locked up, its interesting to see how different people carried out their duties as a jailers. I found it alot easier to work with them, if looked after them in a good and professional manner the next person after you was always thankful for that. Though you got some folk that were just bad, no matter what you did though I expect they didn't like being locked up either.

The worrying conclusion of these when put together with your blue eyed children study is that more or less the only thing holding the western world back from random genocide is no leader has found a use for it recently.

Hmmm, perhaps you havent noticed that the illegal invasions of iraq & afghanistan both involved predominately white skinned people, armed with superior weaponry attacking and killing many innocent brown skinned people who were inferior to then due to their antiquated weaponry.

It happens all the time, its just of we notice it or not.
