so go to the Careless driving MCN petition/home office review thread, click on the link and read the document about the proposals - quite an interesting read actually - and tell them what you think... or buy an mcn and send the form in next week...

it will only change if we change and do something however small it is.... if we do nothing, nothing changes.....

Of course at some unspecified point in the future he could "accidentally" get run over by a posse of SVs who after a "whoops we didn't see him" get nothing more than a fifty quid fine and a few points each .

Default We're Going to Court....

I have finally got through to the police.

Van man has had his plea hearing and gone Not Guilty to all charges.

Trial date has been set for September 30th with a plea and directions hearing to be heard 1-2 months before that.

Im stunned that with the overwhelming evidence against him he still cant admit what he did was wrong. Still, I should be well enough by then to face a trial.

If he had pleaded guilty, he would have gotten a lighter sentence (admission of guilt leads to lenient punishment generally).

A not-guilty plea will be worse for him in the long run, and I think I'm not alone in wanting this particular mortal to suffer as much as is physically possible

Wow, what an idiot. Still, hopefully for his shocking display of arrogance and lack of remorse for his crimes, they'll throw he book at him, along with all remaining books and the bookshelf too

With all the eveidence against him the man is just proving what every one suspected all along - he's a sandwich short of a picnic.

On the plus side he should get a harsher sentence and he will be made to live through every humiliating detail in front of a large crowd.

c'est la vie.

Glad you are ok, but what concerns me is why was he in such a hurry to try and escape and that brings my mind to thinking was he insured, let hope so.
Regards ****.

Regards d*ck.
er this is a bit complicated. He is insured by the company he was driving for but because he failed to provide proof on his producer hes been charged with driving without insurance on top of everything else...

Im getting better and glad that Ive got some news at last after 4 weeks. I knew he would have a court appearance to plead in that time but didnt know what was happening until today.

Just read this thread. What an absolute total **** this van-man was!

Lyn,
I know you've heard of the "had an accident. Not your fault" lawyers etc (as we all have) to claim for injuries/stress/trauma/costs etc from an accident, but did you know there are a growing number of lawyers who also specialise in assault claims? Yes, that's right, you can teach this ****hole a lesson by hitting him 3 TIMES.

1) The Courts do him for the criminal charges

2) You claim from him for the injuries/stress/trauma/costs of the accident

3) You claim from him (personally) for his assault on you.

That'll teach him.

(PS: I'm a mature law student so I'm "into" law)

The worrying thing is, that there seems to be more and more "nutters" and aggressive maniacs on the roads who lose their tempers at nothing and try to get away with heanus crimes like this.
