Re: Thames Valley Group Section - Will you attend?
I am home by 5 usually so I'd say perhaps 7 to give people time to get there? We could eat there maybe. Like a date

Other than that there is a 'spoons the Catherine Wheel which as im sure we all know does cheap burgers/chips etc and cheap drinks. Usually quite packed though so you have to crowd surf to the bar. Loads of the pubs seem to keep closing down(i think Brakspears own them) so there are not as many as there used to be. Angel on the Bridge can be nice but busy if the weather is good and its quite expensive. IMHO one slightly out of town somewhere might be a good option as that usually guarantees available free parking. There are quite a few knocking around the area, but i havn't much experience of them as they are a bit of a trek if your drunk and on foot! For the fans of franchises the is a Starbucks in Henley but it always seems to close really early. To conclude a pub a bit 'out of the way' gets my vote....i may have to do some recon. |

A pub out of the way sounds good to me too. But not deserted. A bit of atmosphere would be nice.
We could always choose different locations each time and then make a choice for a regular one from those visited. |
