Without batteries it will fire at a fixed 1/100 or so, and obviously the meter won't work. It has (good) batteries in but still only fires at one speed. The meter works but reads 2-3 stops down e.g. 1/30 where a light meter reads 1/100. The two may or may not be linked. The exposure knobs (ISO, exp comp, shutter speed) are quite a nifty design so when you take them off and put them back, you pretty much can't get it wrong. I've only just put the case back on, though thankfully it's easy to remove, and I've seen the solenoids inside that control the shutter curtains. Am going to try to do a bit of research first though which could save time.

Got some 17mm film 172303852888 just need the camera to go with it now. No idea how or where to have it processed though! Also won an auction for a 110 camera and some others (five in total) for 99p plus post. Seller cancelled order as it didn't make any money.

You know I dreamed about cameras last night? Images of online ads flashing through my brain. Of course, these must be subliminal messages indicating that there is an urgent need which cannot be resisted for me to acquire a Pentax MX.

You aren't the only one, I have had many dreams involving cameras. Sad aren't I? So, will you give in?

Not yet. I'm really busy tomorrow so will go up and have a look on Wednesday evening. The seller says it's working fine.
The k1000 and Chinon can share the lenses.

Not sure what went wrong here. Agfa Solinette, not scanner as I tried it on both. I know what caused the rainbow effect, but not the mistiness.

It's a ghost. You've taken pictures of a ghost. Actually I've no idea, I would be inspecting it for lens problems and light leaks I think.

To defend my corner I've only posted suggestions of bargains! Don't worry, I am also not so immune to the temptations, although right now my house is filling with cameras that don't work, so I'm disinclined to buy anything else, with the possible exceptions of a good 120 folding rangefinder like a Mamiya Six, and a Contessa 35 (folding). There is an old Mamiya at the shop in Leeds but not quite what I'm after. At around £100 they're fairly serious money, and the Contessa would be £60-80 too, so I should offload a bit first. That and take some pictures...

I've no idea what that is but I'd be interested to know.
What created the rainbow effect?
