Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Wow, Thanks to everyone who liked my post.
See, I'm not a miserable old git all of the time. Heorot thanks for sharing your experiences as well. 34 years ago I'm sure infant heart surgery was at least 1000 times more risky than today. Going through it again a second time has got to be tough. Glad everything turned out the best for your daughter! There's a good chance my grandson may need another heart transplant when he reaches his early teens so we may be going through it all again as well. However there is 20+ year old lad who lives about 30 miles away that's still on the heart he got as an infant in the same hospital. That and hope in medical advances in the next 11 to 15 years and maybe our grandson won't have to have another transplant, we hope. He's doing well now and we're still very thankful for that!

Smile of the day - What is yours?
This photo made me laugh, it's an Aussie friend who took his kids to Santa's Grotto, they don't seem that impressed.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Thank you all who appreciated my story.. It was an experimental operation at Great Ormond Street hospital and we were told that she would probably need the surgery repeated by the time she hit 16yo. So far, so good.

If you can catch this article before they realise and update it - the photos and narrative go out of sync from photo 7 to photo 60 making for some very interesting captions - the lovely Kate O'Mara looking much rougher than I remember, and as for Bob Hoskins...
