And your point is...? Or perhaps you're just not a fan of democracy
![]() Like an advert might say: 'Other choices are available' not just the ones you might think are acceptable. You may have to get used to that. Some stuff you may see makes less than happy reading sometimes - I just want everyone to be aware of what's very possibly about to happen. It would be a shame if people were thinking they were voting for a government that simply doesn't look likely - unlike a number of people I've been speaking to seem to think, it wouldn't be 'voting for Nick'.

WRT your point that local issues would be a thing of the past with PR, I strongly disagree. In many ways these are already a thing of the past, with MPs doing as they are told by the party, often not living in or coming from their constituency, not giving a fig about certain groups because they are not supporters of their party and so on. An MP should represent the people of their constituency, but not many are very good at it. PR would make no difference in that regard IMO. Local politics should deal with local issues anyway, as this is where any solution will be implemented. If the Labour machine had not hoarded power into Westminster this would be easier achieve. |

I really cant understand why so many people seem to hate Cameron based on the fact that that he is well educated and from a wealthy background. That does not make him oblivious to how the country works or how people live. Maybe you would hate me too because I can speak in a posh accent when it suits and was educated at an expensive private school? I am certainly well aware of the squalor that some people live in, I see no reason why people should think that Cameron is not.

My point is that you were parroting the highly misleading Tory "vote Lib-Dem - get Labour" slogan. A Lib-Lab coalition would be dramatically different to Labour having absolute power (and preferable IMHO to the Tories having absolute power too). As has already been pointed out, Brown almost certainly wouldn't survive such a scenario.

Indeed, he was also educated at a private school. People seem to have picked up on the fact that Cameron is an Etonian with a posh accent and thus must have his head in the clouds. My point is I do not understand why people believe this and as such I cannot make a comparison with Clegg. There must be something that others see in Cameron that makes them dislike him personally that I cannot see.

The main thing I hate to hear is "don't for xxxx because they will do yyyy." I want to hear "vote for us because..." I couldn't give monkey's toss what xxxx thinks about yyyy, I want to hear what xxxx is going to do once in power.
The other thing which winds me up is the "Conservatives are only for big businesses." Halleluyah for that!!! Successful businesses keep people in jobs, successful businesses give pay rises, successful businesses pay Corporation tax and business rates. Let's have unsuccessesful businesses, and no jobs, and higher taxes on those in work to pay for all those who are not. And no I won't be voting Cons but I sure as 'ell won't be voting for the party who's NI increase will hurt businesses, and potentially close businesses/lose jobs/lose tax revenue and put greater strain on those still lucky enough to be working. As for Cameron/Brown/Clegg coming from the wrong background - ROLLOX. Its about what you intend to do, what your policies are and are you intelligent enough to do the job. And its about truth and honesty. Which party promised no tuition fees for undergrads? Which party said there'd be a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty? Which party said there was weapons of mass destruction(see Blair's transcript form the Chilcott Inquiry)? And on a local level which local MP from said party promised to vote against the closure of local Post Offices but voted to close the local Post Offices. I have voted Labour in the past but it will take a massive change in policies, and credibility, before I will again.

![]() There----Honesty for you.Glad Im not in politics. The serious point though,is that none of them are competant to run the country so best none of them are allowed to eh?What we need is a great leader with talent and vision to take the country forward out of the morass of fourty years of chronic mismanagement.I cant see one on the horizon though. Can you? ![]()
