Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Not the best road conditions for it but got in a test ride on the ZX6r today, now it's back together. Really need to change the gearing. Tyres are uninspiring (previous owner fitted the cheapest ones Metzeler do about 300 miles ago unfortunately). Mirrors are totally useless with the bar conversion. They actually just show me my hands no matter how I adjust them. Rear brake seemed to have loads of air in it and loads of travel (which took me by surprise on a slow manoeuvre), so did a quick bleed once home and got some feel back into it. But good to know it runs after my valve clearance work.

Looking good.
You need to spray the mudguard though. And the tail piece...and the lowers...and the tank

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
The worst thing about fitting a bathroom is the tiling

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
I'm not even there yet. Moved a wall to put in a shower cubicle, still working out the wastage, had to move the rad, toilet, weird 70's massive hot tub esque bath being replaced so also needs new wastage - picked recessed taps which was stupid. Along the way I've found the floorboards had disintegrated and ceiling was falling in, so boarded the ceiling (which was fun on my own with no floor or lights) and replaced the entire floor with WSB Ply. The hot/cold water supply was also run like ****, they obviously didn't own a pipe bender so there was like 8 elbows to get the pipe pointing in the approximate direction which I replaced with two bends and elimitated the boxing in.
Walls are back to brick (and are wierdly missing many bricks and a lot of pointing and one wall isn't tied to anything - so more to do there), decided I've got to get the walls boarded before chasing tap locations etc incase the walls being out of whack moves them. I've got the plumbing to approx locations now atleast. It is a job that has absolutely snowballed and I'm having to learn pretty quick...or maybe this is just standard stuff the experts have to put up with.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Sounds just like my bathroom at the moment. And it's ****ing me off too.
Just trying to source a plasterer to tidy up all the walls now.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Well there's a coincidence! Just finished tiling in and around the area of the old shower cubicle which I had taken out. When I pulled of the wall rail off I missed a retaining screw and so the wall plug came out with it and so did three large tiles, they loosened the ones above and below so ended up near enough retileing the whole wall near enough. Grouted yesterday, today sealed the shower tray in.
Annoying thing is the new cubicle looks a doddle to fit .I reckon a 3 hour job even with the wife giving me a hand |

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
A few years ago, I did something similar - took a week off work to "get the bathroom done". The ceiling was horrible plastic wainscoting which I thought I could quickly replace, but was held up little more than balsa wood. At the end of the week, I had finished the ceiling and little more ... the ceiling is great, but the rest was a little rushed

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Put proper thru axles on this, not sure why it comes with axles that require a T40 torx to remove - hardly the easiest thing out on the road... + it now has pedals and correct saddle height
