The question should be what is 10" long and makes me smile every time I look at it, the answer is my new tattoo.

Getting the F back from Spannerman today after a thorough seeing to and a fresh MoT. The freshly stripped /cleaned /greased rear linkages have made an already smooth ride decidedly silky. Me likey a lot.

Getting a text from a mate who now lives in N. Ireland who I rarely see saying 'Skinnnnooooooo I'm in London, my meeting finished early, get me into Lord's so I can see you'. Pass for the media centre sorted in minutes. Great to see him and catch up.

Just got back from walking the mutt with a big smile on my face. Trundling down the road from Hughenden Valley into High Wycombe was a full size Showman's Engine. When you say traction engine to most people they most likely think of a light steam tractor (LST) which was used for farm work or a road roller but the Showman dwarfs them both. These leviathans were for travelling fairs, covered in lights powered by a generator up front and with a mahoosive flywheel to provide belt-driven movement. This one was chuffing along at a reasonable lick but the queue of cars behind it went way out of sight and was still creeping along when I turned the corner. Just hope all those trapped drivers appreciated such a wonderful glimpse of Victorian engineering as much as I did.

I bet there was plenty of tutting going on behind it,just like towing a caravan, you don't have to have the windows down to hear it,you can feel it !!!

Can we start a thread about how we hate steam traction engines on the roads!

Inconsiderate coal burning, flat capped morons

Going to work.

(I know that was a shock to you all)

I haven't been in the office since Wednesday, went away for 2 days on a work trip which included a phenomenal speaker. Then had a good weekend.

Fully rested and ready for the week ahead.
