I'd be more concerned about your car's "donging"

Lovely day at Horse Of The Year Show with youngest, got home at 11pm to find that the lovely DJ had even swept the floors so the house was actually clean, the dog has even forgiven me for leaving her for the day

Mine could appear in gripe or smile of the day but let's be optimistic. Last night I went to Raf's leaving party before he departs the UK to Trumpton, also known as the USA.

We had a great night at Belgo with much Belgian beer and a few enormous wallies (of the pickled cucumber variety).

The gripe is Raf leaving us. But on the upside he's moving close to one of the world's greatest wine regions so I'm already planning my first visit with Coolgirl Debs.

On the 15th March 1982 I saw Iron Maiden in concert in Edinburgh.
A tad over 35 years later I will be seeing them again, this time in London at the O2.

I am very excited about this, particularly as it has been approved and cleared by my 'boss'.

I smile at all the tv/newspaper reports of clowns scaring people.

Especially one I just read on the bbc web site where the guys says a clown jumped out at me so I punched him on the nose. If it wasn't red, I bet it is now.

Personally If I was attacked by a group of clowns, I would go for the juggler.

I had my annual appraisal this week. My manager, the Lord's curator, took note earlier this year of my enthusiasm for the planning that goes into each of our exhibitions. Sometimes I use my contacts to obtain items we might want from cricketers, but mostly I take the pictures and push our media team to do some promotion.

During my review he said he wants me to plan and curate a photography exhibition to tie in with the West Indies team coming next summer along with some associated special events.

The photographer covered the West Indies for years and is now retired so this would be a retrospective of West Indies cricket through his photos.

It's an exciting project. Lots of work and a big learning curve for me but I'm really chuffed that I've been asked to do it.

I can start the planning while I'm stuck at home with my leg in plaster for the next fortnight.

Nice to see someone getting a positive annual review.

My smile is my American buddy is coming to visit tomorrow, despite Hurricane Matthew nearly scuppering his travel plans.

Nice - sounds like a good excuse to visit the West Indies for, cough, research purposes. Once the plaster cast is off natch.
