My road is a designated trunk road so is one of the first roads to be cleared. If there is snow or ice, it is sorted before I've even gotten out of bed!

The house is back to front so all rooms that are frequently used are to the rear, with my 100ft garden and fields behind I don't generally her anything. Even the garden is quiet as not a lot of noise makes it out back! Besides, it's only busy at rush hour so I'm usually going to work or coming home when it's noisiest!

I was getting the impression from this thread that only the council are allowed to touch it.

Anyone can touch it but you're only supposed to use it on public land. On the road.
